Ramon Crater - Trip to Israel

Mitzpe Ramon

Mitzpe Ramon is founded on a unique ideology of co-existence, inspiration, education, and community. This beautiful, artistic and agricultural town in the Negev desert serves as an ideal backdrop for meaningful volunteer work on Project TEN with NEXT.

ABOUT THE LOCATION

Join us to make the desert bloom! Mitzpe Ramon is a small town on top of the Ramon Crater, Israel’s largest national park, in the Negev desert. The Negev desert is full of life as a region inhabited by diverse population groups. The people and nature offer special volunteer opportunities in exciting and interesting places, including the Israel Nature and Parks Authority, a center for arts and crafts, farms for traditional desert agriculture, schools, and community gardens.

WHERE IT’S LOCATED

Mitzpe Ramon provides a unique opportunity to interact with diverse communities you would not ordinarily encounter, in a landscape that will draw you in to the surrounding nature and the environment. Project TEN with NEXT is based in the town’s art district, overlooking the peaceful views of the desert. The accommodations were once a workers’ village and over the years have developed into a haven for young people, travelers, and artists. The nearest city is Be’er Sheva, about an hour’s drive away, a hub that will allow you to travel to all parts of Israel. The location provides opportunities to make a significant impact on many different aspects of Israeli society.
